It's been over thirty years since I left the snow country and came to Tokyo.

I dreamed of becoming a film director. My career began as an apprentice in a video production house. Ten years on, I'd moved into the world of advertising. In 2000, I chose to go my own way — independent, working under my own name. A quarter century has passed since.

The longing remained a longing — quietly persisting, year after year — and that's how I arrived at 2026. For the first time in my career, I built a homepage like this. A chance to step back, take in everything I've done, and look at what I still want to do.

That's when I realized: across these thirty independent years — videographer, copywriter, graphic designer, photographer, web designer, video producer — I had worn many faces in front of clients, but I had always been chasing one thing. To move people through my work. I had spent my career in advertising, yet at its core, I had always been weaving each piece the way a film is woven.

Decoration applied to the surface doesn't reach anyone. What reaches the heart is the idea that lands like a foreshadowed reveal — the moment of "ah, of course" that only arrives after careful setup.

Carrying my own answer, the one I found at the far end of all that longing — someday, I want to move you.
